Recruiter to Business Partner

Recruiter to Business Partner

In a company where a recruiter has reached a potential ceiling in career development, there is often an impression that there is nowhere to move, so it is time to change companies. A one-sided view of a problem that actually has several solutions.

A logical career step might be a mastering the skills of a team leader or becoming an HR specialist. This is actually a long process, and usually only allowable if there is an open vacancy.

The above is not for everyone? Then the next step could be training as an IT manager or QA. It doesn’t sound logical, although it is realistic, especially for those who no longer see themselves in recruiting.

One wrong move and you’re a business partner

How many times have representatives of third-party companies written you an offer to find an IT specialist? Probably quite a few. In 99 cases out of 100, the recruiter would rather choose soup with a fly than continue this correspondence, and only once will he pass on the offer to his manager.

What will happen if a recruiter wakes up one day on the wrong side of the bed, remembers one of those conversations lying around like a dead weight on LinkedIn, and scratches his head?

Yes, this wrong move will lead to a conversation with the manager, in which you can offer your services as a business partner.

Process on vacancies where you directly make decisions and have leverage and influence over the selection of candidates, gives great motivation.

The following consequences follow from the desire to become a business partner:

– management sees your initiative and desire to develop;
– you get career growth out of thin air;
– rapid increasing of salary causing envy looks on you from colleagues;
– a model gait appears out of nowhere, and diamond shoes begin to rub against an already expensive pedicure.

In former times, business proposals from strangers on LinkedIn tested my patience, but now I even look at them from a high bell tower.
