Is IT Simple or as in a Slipshod Way?
During the project implementation or at work, IT specialists often face some problems, «mumps» or «fucked ups». In general, all these words can be put into one very symbolic – «bagga». We will try to understand when it arises, how it grows and develops.

The role of the «bagga» in professional growth

In order to move up the career ladder, get a new position or promotion, you will have to face difficulties. This is inevitable: a new place will not be offered just like that. In other words, the work will be, but not the easiest and requires considerable effort and time. So what awaits you? That’s right – a typical bagga! “Fat” projects would scarcely be offered to you, as a rule, you need to hit a lot of buttons, earning a place under the sun. Do you want a high position? Grab the «big bagga», and the better the result, the more successful you are.

Remember that your promotion is a continuous transition from one bagga to another.

Hierarchy of the “bagga”

Failures exist everywhere and everywhere, but they also differ depending on the authority of the employee. Thus, there is a hierarchy and its own rules.

For example, let’s take the career ladder and consider what we have.
The project manager faces a problem and, depending on his skills, can take different paths to solve it. First, if the problem is small and the manager’s experience is solid, he will easily «multiply it to zero». Or push somewhere farther, on the lower step to small problems. Lower-level managers will solve the problem there. In general, you do not want to deal with troubles – delegate them!

A small problem today can become huge tomorrow! You need to deal with it quickly and in time, until it reaches catastrophic proportions and absorbs you. Otherwise, the manager may fire you because you did not cope with this problem. But if you, as a manager, are in good standing, you can expect indulgence in the form of a reset, unfortunately, at the bottom of the hierarchy.

Now life hack! To prevent the mountain of trouble to rise to your level, you need a team lead to choose a competent team of professionals who are able to curb any honorable mistakes at their level. That is, tasks should be built depending on the experience and knowledge of employees. Then you will not be assigned responsibilities that someone else should take care of.

«Can cracked» in project risks

Before we analyze the features of canning cracking, let’s try to find out where the legs grow. Why do they suddenly appear when, it would seem, everything is fine and nothing portends disaster.

Thus, from the beginning of the project, the manager from the height of his experience may not notice small flaws, shortcomings, risks, because this is the beginning of the emergence of an unpleasant odor. Risks are the beginning of small problems. At first glance, they are not visible, you do not feel them, but they already are. Therefore, the manager must see and neutralize the threat in time, until it becomes huge! However, you can delegate the problem to the lower rungs to understand the reasons for its occurrence.

At corporate gatherings, teammates often mention fakaps, risk mitigation. But it’s much easier to say: «Guys, we had a small «can», but we coped with it! You can exhale!» And everyone understood everything at once without further ado.

Do not be afraid of «can»! It is easy to found in the early stages. How to do it? Yes, very simple! Follow the rules:

Even if you can’t smell it, it doesn’t mean that there are no «cans»! They are always and everywhere.

Never relax, although at first glance everything goes according to plan. Everything is good, quiet and calm, and at this time new problems are gradually gaining momentum. Be prepared! Don’t forget: they increase in size and absorb everyone who gave birth to them. So that people do not give up, we must remember the following: a normal work process is a constant struggle with unforeseen situations.

The work of employees can be considered good if they successfully deal with problems. And also – in time to tell the manager about the problem. If you hide the risks from the head, then everyone will suffer from the «cracked can».

There is an opinion that there are no mistakes in the team of professionals, because they are destroyed in the embryo. Is that so? Yes and no! That’s why. The lack of problems, imagine, can be an alarming sign. Probably, the big problem has already absorbed all members of the team, which does not have a constant struggle with small troubles. As a result, everyone is not fussing, and it puts to sleep vigilance. This is where the team is in danger.

After all, problems have always been and always will be! They cannot be fully exterminated. They are like the heads of a dragon – you cut off one, and in its place grows three. So it makes no sense to fight everyone at once. First of all, you need to destroy the most destructive. At the same time, it is necessary to constantly monitor the work processes for the occurrence of the threat. A manager is capable of this, who will be able to track down the danger and reduce the risks of encountering a huge problem that can pull everyone to the bottom.

Only an experienced top manager is able to detect a small lurking danger and eliminate it. Otherwise, excessive carelessness and putting things in a «long drawer» can lead to the fact that grief-experts with their heads will fall into a huge quagmire. They won’t notice it, thinking it should be, but in fact they are already in the shit of problems.

The benefits of failure

Surprisingly, «failures» can also be useful. It is best to study in someone else’s failure, but only one’s own is more intelligible. It is useful to read about the stories and adventures of experienced managers, about their experience in dealing with «failures».

On many corporate sites and blogs, we see a wealth of information about the «successful success» of the fight against «failures» and impressive victories in this unequal battle. But not everything is as smooth as they say. For some reason you can learn only from the mistakes, preferably of others.

Fortunately, now there are many books by famous managers about the stories of their successes and failures. It is not necessary to invent a bicycle, because the main conclusions can be drawn from the examples of successful overcoming of fuck ups.

What can be the benefit of «failures»? Any big problem, any crisis is an opportunity to see a breach in the system, the shortcomings that need to be corrected. Maybe we need to rebuild everything, make it work differently. The team will benefit from this. A huge failure will force you to work twice as hard, to concentrate, to exert all your efforts to cope with the problem. Yes, it is a kind of test of intelligence, creativity and professional skills, but you can’t do without it.

Whether you like it or not, it is almost impossible to avoid «failures». This teaches to be in shape and never give up. As paradoxical as it may be, «failure» is a certain book with a well-developed algorithm for solving problems. It can and should be used rationally in the training of managers and testing of candidates for vacant positions.
